Happie Birthday Jaclyn

Jaclyn turns 21 on sunday but we attended her party @ her hse on sat nite. Some of the MTs cant make it - work afternoon shift and stuff. Kejia, yock sian and mi went there first. The reason - shuen, meiyan and sihui were late! Haha.. and i declared they are blurry and tend to get lost at times. The food was great and the host was great!

Last day

On friday marks the end of our 3 mths attachment in SVC @ orchard. The 3 mths has been most rewarding. From here, i have the opportunity to know each and everyone of the MT - juicy luv stories.. makeup tips.. marvellous shopping places.. atas restaurants and some of their darkest secrets!!! Haha.. The guides here have been most helpful to us, coming to our rescue when we are stuck with difficult questions. Rossie, Sapiah and angela tt have taken such a good care of us, stuffing us with food during tea breaks. haha.. yesh.. most of us gain wt.. opps...

Mama sapiah is an emotional mother. A goodbye hug from her touches our heart. Yesh.. she was already tearing. After meiyan presented us with her "home-made" video, everyone was looking for tissue. Sob Sob.. the video just bring back fond memories tt gets everyone tearing. Anway, we will be back to the SVC again!!!

Finalli, we reached the Tent @ Clarke Quay. The concept of tis resturant is quite new. First, choose your fresh ingredients including staples, vegetables, seafood and meat. Next, tell the person which type of sauce mix u wan. Then, they will cooked it and served it to ur table. For the adventurous or those who deemed they are rather good at cooking, you can mix the sauce urself too! Haha.. and after much discussion, we announced the winner to be SHU-En!!! Erm.. there is no prize for it though

Soups and salad are also available. However, the taste is not fantastic. As for the food, i feel is a bit saltish and all sauces taste the same after a while. To mi, this restaurant is just like a high end Seoul Garden. Yap, it is pricey. With discount, we pay $32 each. Else, it wil be $41!!! Pricey isnt it.

Fam - Dempsey Road, 1 Rochester, Mt Faber and St James Power Station

All good things come to an end. The Fam trip on wednesday marks the end of our last FAM trip.

1. Vintage India
This restaurant is located in Dempsey road and belongs to the parent company similiar to tt of Ras and the Tent. I was greeted by the friendly waiters upon entering the restaurant. And once i was inside, I fell in luv with this place. The ambience is realli quiet but not intimidating. Every details of the resturant are careflly considered and all are coherent with the theme. In addition, the same hospitable manager from Ras treated us like VIPs with free food and drink again. Haha.. luving it...

2. Mt Faber Grp
All the restaurants here belong to Mt Faber Grp. With resturants located on the edge of the mountain and overlooking the coastline of sentosa, this is definitely the perfect, romantice venue. When i am there, the feeling to spend a night at tis place is so strong. You will wan to fall in luv and laze the night away with ur special someone. haha... suddenly feel like falling in luv. But, pls drive or take a cab up. The road up the mountain can be a bit eerie and scary for scaredy cats like mi.

3. St James Power Station
First time gg there and i am pretty excited as there are so many different themed clubs inside. The in charge gave us a tour to all the clubs and we ended @ Power House which happens to be a ladies nite. All ladies under the age of 35 can go in FOC and given 5 complimentary free drinks. How good can tt be!!! Hee... Danced the nite away in Power House which played moi fav RnB and Hip Hop. Spent some time in Movida also which has a live band playing Latin music. Haha.. and shu en is realli the latin queen! She is damn good!!! Haha.. and first time gg up to podium and dance but tt is after yanfu literally pulled mi up the podium. Argh!!! Once you are up there, u just heck and dance. haha.. so rather nice experience up there with shu en and sihui. But.. dun tink i will ever go up again.. quite paiseh one.

It was definitely a crazy nite with the gers!!! Not much fotos taken as St james dun allow foto taking. Hmmm.. i tink is weird but it is a rule and regulation. Nothing i can do also.

Choon Yen's Bday

Choon Yen Bday is on 25 Sept. We gave her a sexy halter dress with matching accessories last friday. She liked it veri much and she thought tt her bday celebration ends just lidat... Of course, we have already planned a surprise celebration for her on monday which she have no idea of... Everything was proceeding smoothly according to plan till someone spills the beans!!! So tt someone (MEIYAN) , we can expect a free coffee treat from you right!!!Haha...

Ghim Post Birthday Celebration

Ghim's Bday celebration was like 2 wks overdue as most of us cannot find the best time to meet up. Instead of heading to town, we had a heartlander's dinner @ a coffe shop in clementi. We are having botak jones ! The 2nd time i am eating it... i still remb how the portions are so big tt it can easily feed 2 gers. Even now, the portions are still as big, still as tasty and still as value for money! Haha.. However, be prepared to wait at least 30 mins.

Den, we headed to sunset way for desserts. The area there is like a mini Holland Village and the prices are comparable too. Yeah.. it's a ATAS chill out place. Ordered Tiramisu, Blackforest, sundae and a "i forget wat name raspberry dessert" in Peaberry & Pretzel . The most impressive is the Tiramisu. Moist and yet i can taste the aroma of the coffee. Yum... However, tt place is not veri accessible if you dun not have a car.

Mushroom Day

It was a saturday and met mushroom and papa for dinner @ chinatown. I luv the food @ the hawker of People's Park Complex. Everthing is nice - cheap, good and nice. And you get a "free" suana after your meal too! Ate tis fish soup which had a long long queue. The soup is light but able to taste the sweetness of the fish. And and... the fish is fresh and taste extremely good with a special chilli sauce. Also, ate tis pork floss maki with cheong fun. Pork floss, carrot slices, omelette, cucumber are wraped in chee chong fun. The taste is as good as it looks!

Hairclip Part 2

After the failed mission last week to buy clips for YY, we had no choice but to continue with the mission tis wk. So we headed to Far East Plaza where there is a store located on the 2nd level selling accessories at good price. (By far, the cheapest tt i have seen) And YY, tis time we didnt let you down k...we bought u clips le!!! haahaa.. and it is on the way to UK liao... Chk your mail!!!

Had dinner @ Ramen Ten located in the basement of Far East. Hmmm.. we each had a ramen, shared salmon sushi with tuna and also a yummy mango freeze with jelly. The ramen i feel is so so onli. The sushi is a bit salty due to the tune. The best is the drink. However, is not cheap though. Each person of us had to pay around $15 each lei. Bought a top tt i luv luv veri much from Mary Jane... hee.. expensive though...

If i hang it in the corridor of moi house, i might scare moiself @ night when i went to pee. If i hang it in moi room, i will also scare moiself @ night. Angela's Mini Farewell Party

On monday was angela's last day in STB. Angela has been veri nice to us ever since my attachment @ SVC. She is a gentle person who is patient with us and providing us with all the guidance and aid we need. Therefore, we held a mini farewell for her and even secretly bought a necklance for her from Swaroski!!! Haha.. actualli b4 tt she already tried it on and we bluff her is for SL's sis. Hee.. angela realli hao pian. But she was so touched tt she teared..... So emotional... Thanks for the strudel and all the best in ur future career!!!

Ratatoullie Night

Squeak... Squeak.. Squeak... a show we always wanted to watch since its launch. haha.. so we chopped each to watch it tog.United hor! It was so diffcult to get tix for it on a sat evening - the cathay internet system is down.. PS is fully booked and i had no choice but to walk over to cinelesiure to get the tix. Okie i shall stop complaining.. hee it's onli 5 mins walk away from where i work. I am real happie cos UOB card gets you a 12% discount. Haha.. just to amuse peimin and cuili... i confess tt i ask the sales person "You all have ani DI-COUNT for card?" Haha.. k internal joke.

The show is great with an interesting plot. The mouse just looks so so cute! Haha..Everyone is busy but small gathering like tis is great for catchin up, laughin @ lame jokes and creating new cold jokes. hee

It has not been easy to fix a common day day for so so many of us. Haha.. this celebration has been fixed 2 wks in advance! cool right... Many thanks to sijia who bought the pressies and coordination and zhiqiang for reserving the seats @ the Ichiban Boshi.

I have never been to Ichiban Boshi before but he first visit experience has so far been good. Recommended by cuili for their sushi and softshell crab, i ordered a combi of both softshell crab sushi. Hee.. it looks yummy and i esp luv the part where they leave the legs of the crab sticking out from the sushi. The crab is just nice -not too oily. The other sushi - Deep Impact is filled with tempura fillings. A great blend of texture with the crispness of the fillings and the softeness of the rice. ~wink~ Luv the steamed tofu too... Will definitely come back for the sushi as it is better den sakae and sushi price are just at $1.90 and premium plates @ $5.30.

Mel Bday

Haha..KTV is a must with tis click of friends. Haha... The $10 KTV is our fav spot. Even thought i book 1.5 wk in advance, i am unable to get a small room. Instead we gotten a room for 8 pax althought there are like onli 4 of us? Haha.. I was stunned at the size of the room! It was super super big - with 2 sets of sofa on each side and 1 set of sofa in the centre. It can easily accomodate 20pax. The best thing is tt there is a projector inside. Haha.. i realli feeling like givin a concert with the famous "Zhang hui mei pose" ~winks~ However in the end, we managed to get a smaller room. In order to burn a big hole in our pockets, we switched. Nevertheless, singing remains good! Haha.. and hail to the Hokkien KTV king - choon leng.

Head off for steamboat near lavender. The portions are small for the price. Nothing special with the soup and the satay taste normal. I onli like the fried small squids. The special thing is tt they served chicken rice and with the special chilli they had, it taste pretty good. I will go back again? if i have cravings for chicken rice though...

FAM trip - Night Spots Part 2

Yesh... we went to a 2nd FAM trip on thursday... Again... it is @ Clarke Quay... The fact that we spend 2 days at tis place is clear - Clarke Quay is THE venue to chill your night away!!!

1. RAS

I was impressed by the manager of this Indian cuisine restaurant. He gave a very elaborate and detailed description of the food they serve and the impression they are trying to create. The chef is chosen out of many as he is the ONLY one able to create indian food tt is satisfying and yet not greasy tt makes you yearn for more. The trick is tt they must be able to eat it for 4 days! Haha... They are nice to serve us a free spiced milk tea and a "curry puff" with beef inside. The green sauce makes the puff so delicious! I will definitely go back and eat it again! Haha.. An average meal cost around $40 though.

2. Indochine

A franchise restaurant. The first storey is a chill out are targeting the expats and maybe the older adults. The 2nd storey is a resturant sellin fusion chinese food. The deco is a bit heavy though. And the off thing is that they dun have a washroom of their own on the first floor so have to go to he public toilet.Weird. However, they are real nice to treat us Vodka Mango.

3. Attica Loo

I especiall luv the Al Fresco kind of chilling out. The chocolate sensation of baileys, cocoa poweder and milk is real good! Thumbs up.

4. Kandi Bar

I always wanted to go inside as from the exterior, the decorations is modernly done up. The bar is rather small though but the flashing lights on the floors makes mi feel like i am in a disco.

5. Fashion Bar

A veri glamorous bar. I luv the theme of tis bar so much! Haha.. guys shld come on wed as it is a models night! So there will be lotsa eye candies! ~Wink~

6. MOS

Haha.. do i need to intro more? This clubbing area has been ever so popular even since its opening!

Hairpin day?

Met up with zhiyun with the purpose of buying hairclips and pins for our dearest YY in UK. She complains there is not much variety there and even if there is, it is bloody expensive. So for the sake of our dearest, we head down to chinatown. Ang joined us also. It has been almost a yr since i last saw her... time reali flies...

Dinner was great! Cheap and good! Moi won ton noodles onli cost $2 with lotsa char siew! The dumplings is onli $6 with 12 in total!!! Haha... Yummy.. YY we help u eat ur share k! Haha...

After dinner, we went and sourced for hairclips and realised tt the ones at far east and chameleon are still nicer. Haha.. so the hairclip sourcing onli lasted 1o mins and we spend the next few hrs shopping.. Haha... bought a couple of act cute stuff and a nw dress onli @ $10!!! Horray!!!

Fam trip - Red Dot Museum

Right after familiarising the night spots on monday night, we are off to the red dot museum the next day. Red dot museum is a rather new museum that open in yr 2005 and is situated near tanjong pagar. Red dot is an award presented to designers and is somewat like the oscar award in the field of designing. The other red dot museum is in Germany. A great place for artists to gain inspirations.

The admission tix for the red dot museum is $5 per person. During the first wkends of every mth, the exhibition hall is converted into a bazaar venue for artists to sell their original products not seen elsewhere. The originality is guarantee as the artists need to get their products vetted first by a jury. Next mth i shall take a look! Hee...

FAM trip - Night Spots Part 1

On monday night, it was a happie FAM trip @ clark quay. The main objective is to undertsand the highlights and unique selling points of each night spots. Nevertheless we had fun teasing, drinking and fooling around!

1. Coriander Leaf

Besides functioning as a normal restaurant, one can choose to take up cooking lessons here in their kitchen. Sounds good for lazy bum like me who dun realli like to clean up after creating a mess in the kitchen. Haha..

Specialty includes - tandoori chicken and set meals starts from $60. They are not Halal cos they sell wine and ingredients like duck is hard to find them in halal form. However, dun worry as no traces of pork or lard can be found here.

2. Saint Pierre

A French fine dining restaurant located in central mall not the one tt recently opened though. One thing gers will go 'gaga' abt tis restaurant is that the chef - emmanuel stroobant is veri charismatic. Haha.. We cant help but he has been the topic for the past few days. Back to the restaurant, the ambience is realli good and definitely a top choice for a romantic dinner and authentic french cuisine.
Specialty of course includes - foie gras and all their ingredients are all imported from Japan and France. Be prepared to spend a bit more though as set meal is priced at $128++. We were served complimentary champagne and it is super nice!!! The best i have ever drank. It doesnt taste bitter and has a lingering sweet taste in you mouth! Awesome! haiz.. we are in a hurry else we will have a chance to taste the desserts.. Hee

now u all know why we so excited.. haahaa

3. Wine Garage

In case you didnt know, wine garage, brewery and cafe iguana are under the same company but target at different audience. Wine garage has over 750 selections of red and white wine. Of course, you will be spoilt for choices.

4. Brewerkz

A self sufficent brewery with their in house beer brewed right at the behind of the pub. Definitely, you can expect the beer to be fresh. Their finger food are super nice - calamri, potato skin and nachos. We werent given complimentary but most of us have went there at least once so we were able to give some frank opinions. Hee..

5. Cafe Iguana

A place with great a cosy setting and i luv the way they dimmed the whole environment. A place great for drinking tequila and magrittas. In case you ever wonder, wats tequila? Hmmm Tequila is made from a plant called blue agave aka Maguey. Some tequilas are contain onli 50% maguey and the rest are mixed with sugar. All the tequilas sold here are 100% made from maguey hee... We were given a complimentary tequila and is good! Hee.. The manager gave us some lemon and salt to suck prior to drinking so that the tequila is smoother and not so hard for the throat!

6. Singapore Sling Boutique

Singapore Sling is created in the Raffles hotel more than 100 yrs ago! It is now a signature cocktail of Singapore. The original sling mixes alcohol with pineapple juice. Well not too bad.. hee.. we also tried the sling mixed with lychee and calamasi. I like the lychee more though as i the calamasi taste is too overpowering and i feel like drinking mama lemon. Opps. The best for mi is the virgin sling shot! Haha.. Damn good and strong! Yummy..

7.8.9. Pump Room, Peony Jade Restaurant and Quay side seafood

The 3 listed abv are from the same company. I have introduced pump room before so i shldnt elaborate further. Peony jade sells szechuan and cantonese cuisine. The interior is nicely decorated and the view of the river is pretty good from the insdie. Quayside seafood is sort of Al Fresco kinda dining. They sells fresh seafood where u can choose from the tanks. The good thing abt they belonging to the same company is that u can dine at quayside seafood but still order peking duck from PJ.

10. Ivory Kitchen and Sinsha

An indian kitchen and houses a bar - sinsha. With the new regulations on smoking, sinsha - water cigarette smoking is no longer available here but onli in the branch @ vivo. Nevertheless, we were spoilt when we were served complimentary finger food and drinks! Hee... The finger food is resonably priced startin from $7 and they also have buffet lunch @$25++. A great place to hang out and i will come again! Hee

BIE Gathering

Finalli for tis gathering, i managed to make a reservation for 15 pax. so no more waiting till 8 plus for a seat animore...Haha.. tis also means yiting wont have a chance to scold mi animore! Bleahz... yeah he is evil most of the time..
Going to Waraku @ cuppage.. yup i luv the food there but the visit tis time is quite disappointing i guess onli for mi. However, i tink the rest of the peeps realli enjoy the food. Okie, so wat is so disappointing abt the food i eat tis time - the portion is damn pathetic for a cost of $12.80 and they give mi onli 3 rings of squid!!! Morale of the story - dun order tis special when u go next time.

So after dinner wat did we do? We went for the usual 'sit down and drink'. It was not easy to find a drinking place where it can accomodate 15 of us. We managed to find seats @ starbucks near cuppage plaza. The sitting place was 'centre of attraction' witht eveyone staring @ us but who cares? Well i will just stare back. The session started out with everyone quiet and lotsa silent moments. At the end, it is better? At least i tink so .. haahaa

Anyway it's great seeing you guys! Meet up soon again!

Painful heels day

"See la... si ai mei... tell u walk whole day le.. still die die wanna wear heels" Okie, tt was moi mushroom nagging @ mi when i complain abt moi painful heels. The heels was real painful esp @ the front cos the leather keeps pressing on moi toenails...Poor thing.. haiz.. but obviously.. no one feels sorrie for this vain ger.. haahaaa. SERVES HER RIGHT... okie i shall excuse moiself from heels for 1 day!

Anyway, i was out with the family cos its the lunar 7th mth and we need to pray to our ancestors.

Aftermath, had dinner @ Bia Fu in suntec city aka a japanese restaurant. Tink they are famous for their spicy ramen and u get to choose the degree of spicyness by indictating the number of chillies so is either 1,2,4 or 8. I choose 2 and even for someone like mi who loves chilli, is a bit spicy but still okie. The japanese pizza is nice though but overall i feel is average onli.

Tried DOME for the first time. The hot white chocolate i had was nice but i feel is a bit too sweet. Opps..i still prefer TCC!!! Haha..

Mushroom Bday celebration

Haha.. moi dear mushroom 1 yr older! Tis yr we are gg to celebrate for her @ the Swissotel Merchant Court, Ellenborough Market Cafe. The high tea is reasonably priced @ $22.90++ where i got to try the local delights. Sidetracking a bit, the last + which is cess has been taken out ever since our GST was increased to 7%.

Okie back to the food. The buffet has a lot of different sections - salad, traditional chinese pastry, fried and steamed dim sum, poached prawns, 'tang2 shui3' and western pastries. The main course are so so onli except i tink the mee siam is pretty good. I luv the variety of 'tang2 shui3' - the barley with ginko nuts, pulau hitam, tang1 yuan2, chendol and ...... And the durian puffs are realli good with a generous amount of durian stuff inside the puffs!!! I feel so satisified after the meal. Hee

Moi day started out cheerful as moi dear jie jie - bubu and her bf pop by the SVC @ orchard. Hee... i was so happie to see them!!! Haha.. thanks for visiting!!!

Hooray! I am meeting shiyun, yan qi and wan yi to celebrate wan yi birthday. It has been a long time since i last saw them. It is definitely great to catch up with them and realli happie tt everyone has more or less settled down with their jobs. Haha.. although dear yanqi is still a student but high klass one k! In 4 yrs time, she will known as Dr Goh.

We decided to eat at the Waraku Pasta @ Marina Sq. Shiyun says tt the pasta are not bad and we haven try it out before so why not. The outside decorations are so nice and the pasta looks so appetising. I cant bear not to take a few fotos of them. The onli bad thing abt this restuarant is tt it was so crowded tt initially we were told we need to wait 30-45 mins onli. Of course, tt is not true! In the end, i waited for 1 whole hr! Argh... i am so famished!!! So for all those who wanted to try tis, pls make a reservation!

Finalli, we got a seat and gotten out food! Hee.. we looks so so happie! Haha... Anyway, one unique thing abt tis restaurant is tt they serve complimentary salad with every pastsa ordered. The vegetables are nice but i feel tt the sauce (similar to japanese soy sauce) is too salty. We also ordered a fried tofu. The servings are pathetic for the price of $8.80 and again it is too salty. Now to the main course, the restaurants serves pasta in a variety of style:

I am definitely spoilt for choice and it took mi a long time before i I settled for the bacon and yolk in carbonara cream sauce. Part of the reason i chosen tis dish is becos the yolk looks so good!!! It is nicely cooked to a smooth yet bonucy texture. Half- boiled but the shape of the yolk doesnt change! Thumbs up. However, the sauce is too heavy for mi. Desert is tiramisu parfait. The tiramisu cake is yummy but overall the dessert is too too sweet for mi. I still prefer Azabu Sabu! Hee... Look forward to meething these pretty gers again!

Eversince YiYi left for the far far away UK, this is the 2nd time i met up with zhiyun. Haha.. the last time, she accompanied mi to buy moi fone! Haha.. if u guess it correctly, meeting with her always meant shopping, shopping and nothing else but shopping. It has been a long time i went to Far East and i must say tt the things there are getting so so expensive. A dress there can sell like for $119??? My god... seriously, i wont buy it at least not in Far East unless i am feeling rich to i realli realli luv it. But most of the time, i dun. Haha.. zhiyun ended up with the most purchases. And mi, i just bought a new stockling!

It's finalli friday again and i am always beri happie on this day! Met ivy and sihui for late night shopping but when i saw sihui, she looks real pale. Haiz.. i tink moi jie jie is realli stressed with her work. So poor thing, she looked so tired. Btw, we were supposed to do late night shopping but in the end, we went to our fav hunt - TCC @ PS again to have our fav marble cheesecake! Happie talking cock with these gers... haahaa.. i luv the internal joke - thumbdrive!!! Opps.. cant share it though. Anyway... planning on a bangkok trip with ivy this coming september. Ani other peeps interested?????

Good news: Subway is having a free u/g. A free medium drink and 2 cookies are given free with ani purchase of bread. As an avid fan of subway, i had been havin tt for 3 days dinner le. Haha.. and i am still luving it!!!
