FAM stands for familiarising with Singapore. The day started out with a tour to Little India. Spent hours in Little India - entering the Sari shops, gold jewellery shops and pawn shops. Introduced to the rich religion of the Indian and enter the India temple. It was indeed an eye opener. Lunch was at the Indian Vegetarian Restuarant where i ate the Chapatthi which i liked. Hee.. And this time tried the AMbon which is plan rice cake and u dipped with diluted coconut milk and yellow sugar. It is yummy! Haha.. might be becos of moi sweet tooth. Bought the indian snacks with added spcies. It has an unique taste to it but i like it as well. However, i kanna cheated. A small packet of it cost $1.80. Bleahz...
Went to bugis and walked. Erm... is a place i definitely wont get lost! Haha.. so nothing much interest mi. Was looking forward to the Hot Air Balloon Ride, but the wind today is rather strong and hence not suitable for riding. In the end, we pushed this item to tmr. Sob Sob...
can see cannot sit!
Last place to go for the day is Chinatown. Went to the newly opened "Fou Ya Si" directly opp Maxwell Market. For gers, there is a certain dress code. They do not allow sleeveless and shorts. But luckily, we were still allow in by wearing the sarong and the shawl tt they provide. This is necessary as a sign of respect for the Buddha. The interior of the temple is nothing but MAJESTIC MAJESTIC and MAJESTIC. The architecture is so rich and i loved the colour contrast of the whole temple! The 4th floor of themple contains the tooth relic. They have set timings for the opening of tt area to the public. Is a pity i didnt get to see it as the monks in charge are chanting at the lower storeys. Maybe, i shld make another trip. The scenery of the rooftop of the temple is super nice with lotsa unique nice looking orchids. Surronding the walls are mini statues of buddha safeguarding individual families tt donated. This temple is definitely worth a visit.
this is a rubbish bin!!!
unique wall lights. For CO members, u all shld be able to recognise the lighting part is a musical instrument
Last stop is at CHinatown Heritage Centre where visitors can once again experience the living conditions of our forefathers. The place looks almost like real and is appalling to see how harsh the living conditions was in the past. Definetely, we shld treasure wat we have now, be it electricity tt comes with a press of a switch or drinking water tt runs with the turn of the tap.
nice view from 24th storey!
