DeepaRayaThis is the first time i heard of tis term - DeepaRaya. Anyway, it is a combined celebration of the 2 ethnic festivals - Deepavali and Hari Raya. Back in the office, there is a free lunch for all with malay dishes like beef redang, ah char, biryani. A few of us helped out in a fashion show, a sub event of the celebration. In this fashion show, we are showcasing the traditional and ethnic costumes of the Malays, Peranakans and Indians. That’s right, we are wearing saris and bajus.

Prior to the actual day, we had 1 informal rehearsal to decide on where to stand, how many poses and the route of the walk. Though the preparation was not a lot, I tink the fashion show is fun and a success. Luckily I am an avid fan of American Next Top Model. I think that helps. However, cuili says tt I looked shy which is unlike the usual loud and kuku mi. Haha.. actualli I am an introvert but sadly few people feels tt I am.

It’s definitely fun to do a catwalk.
Malaysia Trip On Sunday, I went to Malaysia again! Tis time, I went with another group of friends – mel, king, jie hua and choon leng. It’s a totally different experience and not realli pleasant one.
First Stop: City Square
We spend almost the whole day in City Square – shopping and eating. Shopping is an activity adored by mel and mi as the guys are onli and solely interested in food. For lunch, we makan @
Seasons which sells food similar to Swensens. The food is not bad and the fried calamari just reminds mi tt in café del mar.

For tea, we went to Kim Gary HK Restaurant. They sell a variety of food and cuisine like HK traditional style aka Maggie mee, Korean kimichi noodles, toast and Taiwanese snow ice. In order to save our stomach for the feast ltr, we just ordered drinks. I luv the colours of the drinks which brighten up moi day.

2nd Stop: Taman Gardens
Taman Gardens, famous for its cheap and tasty seafood. It is the first time I am going there and during the journey there, the experience is bad. As there are 5 of us, we spilt into 2 cabs. To our horror, both cab drivers did not know where it is located and both informed us onli after we had board the cabs. After driving around aimlessly, they stopped and ask for directions from a local Chinese. Luckily, the Chinese managed to convey the correct message across; in Malay of course. However, the horror started.
Suddenly, the cab in front of stopped. King and Choon Leng who were in this cab got out of the cab. After that, they began quarreling and the rest of us were clueless as to what they were arguing about. Shortly after, they board the cab again. Within minutes, we reached the location. It turned out tt the cab driver refused to switch on the taxi meter and threatened to drop them halfway. He even extorted $$ when he asked for a cab fare unreasonably high. WTH!!! This is totally insane. Definitely, the taxi experience had been a bad one.
Luckily, the food made up for the unhappiness. We ordered so many food and it turned out to be so cheap! The total meal only cost 75 RM which is around $8 per person! Haha... yeah so happie to enjoy cheap and good food.

Begger Chicken – stewed herbal chicken and wrapped in clay
After dinner, we took a bus back to the checkpt after the bad experience with the taxi drivers. The journey thru the checkpt was another nightmare. The whole place was so so crowded and hot! I was perspiring with droplets of sweat rolling. Yucks! I really nid a bath.
